Grilled Garlic Scapes

When we make these for folks, they describe it as tender grilled asparagus that was marinated in a mild garlic marinade. They come out so tender and sweet, and very much worth giving a shot. We usually mix them up with sliced zucchini and sometimes carrots, and grill all of them together. But you can just grill them on their own!

  • 1 bunch of garlic scapes

  • olive oil

  • salt

  • (any other veggies you want to grill with them!)

  • fresh lemon juice (optional)

Snip the skinny tops off the garlic scapes, right above where it changes into the slightly bulbous head. Toss everything with salt and olive oil. Grill until they are tender. If you want them brighter, add a tiny bit of fresh lemon juice once they are off the grill. Enjoy!
