How Does CSA Work?

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is an easy and fun way to eat local veggies. As an Evening Song Farm CSA member, you receive your choice of fresh, certified organic, seasonal vegetables each week. Our free-choice model allows you to choose from over 50 varieties of vegetables throughout the year.

Here’s how it works:

Sign up to receive weekly veggies in Winter/Spring, Summer, Fall, or any combination of the seasons. All you need to do is choose the share size that best suits you (mini, small, medium, large, super, or customized) and fill out the signup form for the corresponding season. Shares do fill up, so we recommend planning ahead and signing up early!

After signing up on the CSA platform, you will set a default pickup location (at the farm, in Ludlow, or in Rutland), that you can change as needed. Depending on your share size, you will pick four, six, eight, ten, or twelve items per week. If you pick up at the farm, you’ll select your choice of veggies straight out of our display cooler, and you don’t need to do anything online. Otherwise, you’ll order online each week and receive a customized bag at your selected pickup location.

The veggies in your weekly CSA are fresh, certified organic, and come to you straight from our farm every week. You really will be able to taste the difference.

As one CSA member put it, “[CSA] has been the highlight of my year…I will never eat a supermarket vegetable again!”

We also have an archived, searchable recipe page to help you with new veggies you might try.

“The farm fresh foods have been a weekly reminder of what we have to be grateful for and of how we are connected to the earth.”
